For the Glory/The Civil War News!!

‘The Civil War’ (formerly ‘For the Glory’, formerly ‘The Civil War’) is in the very early planning stages to return to the Majestic Theater in Gettysburg, PA by the summer of 09. “This will be a professional (non-Equity) production based on the show … at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati” that was presented last October. This production will include “full costumes, and more dramatic staging.” Currently a mid-June through July run is being planned.

What are your thoughts?

Keep For the Glory Alive

Okay kids. I am on a one woman mission to keep this show alive. As it gets closer to summer, it's hard to believe For the Glory won't be returning. I don't want that to happen again next summer. I've just created a Yahoo List dedicated to keeping this show alive. It's a place for people who want to give For the Glory a new life to discuss ways to keep it going. From marketing to finding investors. Anyone with a genuine interest in seeing For the Glory succeed is welcome to join us and share their ideas and suggestions.

You can access the list through the following link:

For the Glory 2008

As most of you know by now, For the Glory will not be returning to the Majestic Theater in Gettysburg, PA this summer. The producers, creatives (and probably more then just a few fans) have very high hopes that the show will be able to return in the summer of 08. Which got me to thinking. What can we, as the fans, do to make sure this happens? Now let me put a disclaimer out there - this is purely the musing of a person who believes this show deserves a long, healthy life.

So, what do you think can be done to save "For the Glory"?

I Hate To Be The Bearer of Bad News...

As some of you may already know, For the Glory will not be returning to the Majestic Theater in the summer of 2007. The simplest way to put it is money. They just didn't make enough of it to keep the show going for another year. Unfortuntately this news does not come as a complete surprise to myself, as well as many other folks, but I think we were all holding out hope that a miracle would happen.

They do, however, hope to be back in 2008. There was an article in one of the local papers the other day about the possibility of it coming back next summer.
