They're Here!!

The gang's all here! Everyone successfully made it to Gettysburg either over the weekend or this morning. We had a meet and greet with the cast and staff this morning. It's SO SO great to see Michael, Bart, Rob and Keith again. Actually, even after seeing this show twice with him - this was the first time I've met Keith. I got to meet some of the other cast members yesterday during the check in and they were all so very personable and friendly and just seemed like a bunch of 'good ole' boys'. And some of them actually read this blog - Hi Bryan!!!

I don't have a complete cast list, as this morning was just an 'introduce yourself' type of thing, but I'll get the complete list out ASAP.

They've started rehearsing already. Luckily I can actually hear some of it from my office. And my goodness the talent coming from the rehearsal hall. I dont know how I'll get any work done!

Anyway, gotta run. Sorry to make this so short, but I must get my air conditioning installed before I have roasted rabbit...

Talk soon!!

It's Move In Day

That's right. In just a few short hours Gettysburg will be swarming with actors, musicians and the like. It's actually pretty exciting. Since I'm off work today, I volunteered to help with check-in. I'm such a "Civil War"groupie...

Random Musings

I can't believe the show is less than a month away. Over a year ago when I learned we would be doing this show, I thought it would never get here. And now it's less than a month away. The cast will be here in just over a week for rehearsals. How unreal is that? 12 months of waiting have now come down to less than two weeks. I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward to seeing Bart, Michael and Rob again. And I can't forget Frank and Jack. And meeting Gregory, Keith and all of the 'new kids'.
It amazes me when I think back to 2000 when I first saw this show in Hershey, PA. For the past 6 years I've hoped that someone would bring it back. It sounds crazy, but I've always been - inexplicably - emotionally attached to this show. Being a part of the Majestic - and in essence, a part of this production - makes me feel like I've come full circle. I know there are others out there that feel like this show is finally getting its due. So at least I know I'm not alone.
Anyway, this was just a moment for me to rant about this show. I hope that everyone that reads this gets the chance to see the show either again, or for the first time. If for no other reason but to understand how powerful and emotionally evocative this show really is.

And now it's almost here. I'll be sure to check in more often to let you know how rehearsals are going. And to let you know of any interesting tidbits once the show is running.

And if you do make it to the theater - feel free to say hello. I'll be the one running around in the lobby with the radio wire coming out of my ear...
